HSP Seminar (#256) “Refugees and IDPs in South Sudan and Its Neighbors” (June 20, 2019)
The lecturer is a Rotary Peace Fellow and a graduate student of Peace and Conflict studies at ICU’s graduate school. He is from South Sudan. He experienced life as an IDP and a refugee for several years in the past. As a witness, he will talk about what he and his family experienced, and why he studies in Japan. He will also highlight the current situation of IDPs and refugees in South Sudan. In the timing of TICAD VII to be held in Yokohama, we should learn from him the reality of the peoples in the conflicts, the issues of international cooperation and the role of Japanese people to contribute to their human security.
